TriSoler Duathlon

TriSoler Racing's first annual Duathlon was held on Saturday April 12th in Historic Old Town Helotes.  It consisted of a 3mile run/25mile bike/3mile run.  The temperature was wonderful and other than what seemed to feel like 100 mile winds on the bike course, TriSoler Triathlon Club should be proud to have hosted their first duathlon.

The top female of the day was Christiane Reetz of San Antonio.  A mountain bike racer and previous Xterra USA Championship qualifier, Reetz covered the course more than 10 minutes ahead her nearest competitor.  Her finish time was 2:08:12.

TriSoler Triathlon Clubs' own Chris Edgerton, also of San Antonio, took the overall men's title with an impressive 1:48:09 finish.  Edgerton was the second competitor in to the transition after the first run but had a strong second half to secure his win.  His win was much anticipated after leading the Gonzo Duathlon 2 weeks ago and losing that lead due to a flat. Club member Daniel Jess was not far behind with a finish time of 1:54:05 which was good enough for 3rd overall.  Jess is coming off an impressive sub 5 hour Half Ironman the previous weekend in California. The TriSoler community is gearing up for more races and a strong season.  Thank you to all the participants, sponsors, and volunteers that made this event possible.

Other club members with impressive performances were as follows:

  • Joshua Charles - 3rd place in 30-34 age group (2:07:02)
  • David Martinez - 6th place in 30-34 age group (2:22:03)
  •  William Pace - 1st place in 35-39 age group (2:05:03)
  • John Kelly - 3rd place in 40-44 age group (2:12:33)
Congratulations too all the participants!
